Preservation of Style is a visual journey through Los Angeles' historical apartment buildings. The book was born on a walk from Koreatown to Hancock Park where I brought my polaroid to capture all of the buildings that I loved.
The 1920s and 1930s was a time of housing expansion in Los Angeles. The housing boom of the 1920s was influenced by both Revival and Art Deco Architecture. Los Angeles looked to the construction of its new apartment houses to give the city not only housing but pedigree and style.
